Should I go to the hospital if I feel fine?
Two reasons, and both are strong.
Medical. Adrenaline suppresses pain for hours after a crash. Soft tissue injuries, concussions, and disc injuries frequently don't present until the following day or later. Feeling fine at the scene is not information about whether you're injured.
Legal. Florida's no-fault law requires initial medical care within 14 days of the crash. Miss it and PIP benefits are lost entirely — not reduced, lost. That deadline is unknown to most people until they've already missed it.
What counts: an emergency room, an urgent care, or a physician's office. The point is documented evaluation within the window.
What a gap costs you. Insurers argue that delay means the injury came from something else. A person who waited three weeks faces that argument for the life of the claim, and it's effective.
